Everyone can read the codes
Every message a free number receives appears on this page for anyone to see. Never use it for an account you want to keep, or anything with money in it.
It may already be used
Websites limit how many accounts one number can verify. Search the messages first: if the website already sent a code here, it will probably refuse the number.
It won’t last
Free numbers are temporary. When one ends it goes away, and any account that still needs it to log in or recover goes with it.
How to use a temp number for verification
Copy the number
Pick the US or UK number below and copy it. It copies without the country code, so pick the country on the website.
Search the messages
Type the website’s name in the search box. If it already sent a code here, try the other number or get a private one.
Ask for a text
Enter the number on the website and choose a text message. Free numbers receive SMS only, not calls.
Watch this page
New messages appear here within seconds, and the list refreshes on its own.
What is a temp number?
A temp number is a temporary phone number you use for a short time, usually to receive a verification code without giving out your own. There are two kinds.
Free temp number
Shared by everyone who visits this page. Every text it receives is public, websites may already have seen it, and it doesn’t last. Fine for a quick test, never for an account you want to keep.
Private temp number
Rented to you alone: a real US or UK mobile number from $0.09 for 20 minutes, or 3 to 30 days you can renew. Its codes appear only on your dashboard, and if an eligible number receives no SMS, its cost comes back as store credit.
Temp numbers by country
Free temp numbers come from the US and the UK. Private numbers are available in more countries.
Temp number USA
A US temp number (+1) for websites and apps that want a US phone number. It works from anywhere, so you don’t need to be in the US.
Temp number UK
A UK temp number (+44) for UK websites and apps, from anywhere in the world.
Canada and Australia
Private numbers only. A Canadian number comes as an All services plan for any website ($10.49 a month), and an Australian number for one website lasts 20 minutes, from $0.20.
Temp numbers for popular apps
Every app has its own rules about temp numbers. These guides explain them, and which rental to choose.
WhatsApp
WhatsApp refuses VoIP numbers, and on WhatsApp the number is the account, so pick one you can keep.
Instagram
You can sign up with just an email, but Instagram may ask you to add or confirm a phone number later.
Telegram
Telegram won’t create an account without a phone number, and it uses the number to identify you afterwards.
Gmail
Google often asks for a phone number when you create a Gmail account, and it may ask for the same number again later.
Discord
Discord asks for a phone when a server requires one, or when its safety system wants proof that you’re a person.
Facebook
Facebook’s sign-up takes an email address instead, but Facebook may ask for a mobile number later for a security check.
Need a number nobody else can see?
Rent your own US or UK number from $0.09 for 20 minutes. It’s private to you, has never been sold before, and its cost comes back as store credit if an eligible number receives no SMS.
